SAAS (Sakr,Awwad, Abi-Najem and Sakr) was established by lawyers having a vast experience acquired in major law firms having a wide background in all significant areas of economic and commercial law and dispute resolution. We offer tailor-made services to corporations, organisations, individuals and governmental entities, in particular on trade, commercial and financial matters both contentious and non-contentious, with an emphasis on cross-border service internationally and in the Middle East.
Our lawyers have a recognised practice in each of its core practice areas: mergers and acquisitions, stock market and private equity transactions, leveraged buyouts, taxation, group restructuring and financial transactions, new technologies,distribution and trade, foreign investments, private clients, international trade, project finance, contract negotiation and international arbitration/litigation and ADR, etc. We are regularly retained by domestic and international companies in a wide range of industries including financial services, insurance, technology, telecommunication, transportation, manufacturing, mining, construction, energy, insurance, infrastructure, hospitality and retail.
Our lawyers also advise a number of ministries and government entities, international and professional organisations and diplomatic missions.
SAAS lawyers maintain and continue to develop an extensive international network of alliances and affiliated law firms, enabling us to ensure our clients receive top quality integrated service as we work with the foreign law firms that will best meet their needs. Many of our lawyers are admitted and practice in a number of foreign jurisdictions.

SAAS lawyers recognise how challenging it is for some members of the community to access the judicial system. Through our skilled volunteering, we support both philanthropic organisations and members of Civil Society. While our strategy mainly focuses on supporting the civic society striving for human rights, we also endorse miscellaneous pro-bonus that satisfy our team’s willingness to defend.
On the civic society panel, our lawyers successfully represented ADDL, a Lebanese human rights’ association in a judicial challenge against a regulation issued by the Ministry of Interior violating the Association Law and Lebanon’s obligations with respect to freedom of associations under international law.
We worked on the establishment of the Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE), drafting its by-laws and several electoral reforms memoranda while participating in its elections monitoring campaigns.
We participated in the campaign for Civil Marriage in Lebanon and provided pro bono legal representation to a couple in a legal action in order to register their civil marriage in the official registry.
We also believe in empowering the rural community. As such, we provided pro bono legal representation to Association for the Development of Rural Capacities, a non-profit association dedicated to rural development through economic and social development projects, namely the provision of microcredits, better access to labour market and supporting the set-up of income generating projects.
Supporting pro-bono engagements is also important to our team of lawyers. We encourage them to endorse projects on ad-hoc basis, based on their convictions and capacity to support.

As such, we recently supported a non-profit organisation linked to education, Lebanese Alternative Learning , by providing legal support for running an e-learning platform targeting educational associations, NGOs and schools hosting underprivileged students.
We also provided legal support to The Association for the Promotion and Exhibition of the Arts in Lebanon, a NGO dedicated to showcasing and encouraging Lebanese artists by projecting their artwork beyond conventional borders and onto a larger screen. This NGO represented Lebanon in the Venice Biennale in 2015 and is now sustaining its efforts to promote Lebanese artists abroad.
Strengthening human rights in our community is a key drive for us. A part from being an ethical obligation, we believe that defending with purpose is what keeps us strong leaders.
