Jennifer Keyrouz is a Counsel at SAAS.
Jennifer has extensive experience in assisting Lebanese and international companies as well as States and governments in various jurisdictions across Europe, the Middle East and the GCC.
Her experience covers a range of contracts including general commercial transactions, construction, hospitality, oil and gas, infrastructure projects as well as corporate and white-collar crime disputes.
She represents and advises clients in ICC, ICSID, DIFC, BCCI and UNCITRAL ad hoc arbitral proceedings, and she is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrator.
Prior to joining SAAS in 2013, Jennifer gained international experience in Paris. She was an associate in the international arbitration practice group of Orrick Rambaud Martel LLP. Between 2009 and 2010, she completed several internships in the international arbitration practice groups of Dechert LLP and Freshfields Bruchkaus Deringer LLP.
Experience as Counsel - ICC arbitration exceeding 200 million dollars between an aircraft and helicopters manufacturer and its agent regarding the sale of commercial and military airplanes to a GCC country and involving issues of wrongful termination as well as allegations of corruption and bribery (Seat Paris, French law)
- ICC arbitration opposing a cybersecurity and surveillance company to a GCC country in a dispute amounting to 60 million dollars.
- ICC arbitration amounting to 40 million dollars between a Lebanese-Qatari JV and a Qatari developer regarding a FIDIC dispute under Qatari law (Seat Paris, Qatari Law).
- ICC arbitration amounting to 35 million dollars between an aircraft manufacturer and a real estate fund in a shareholder’s dispute involving minority veto rights, gridlock and termination (Seat Paris, French law.)
- ICC arbitration proceedings regarding a dispute between a French automobile manufacturer and its Turkish subcontractor (Seat Paris, French law).
- ICSID arbitration (ICSID Case No. ARB/07/12 - jurisdictional phase) against the Government of Lebanon under the Lebanese-Italian BIT in relation with an infrastructure project.
Potential ICSID arbitration between a Spanish investor and the Government of Lebanon under the Lebanese-Spanish BIT in relation with a tender for the construction of a Power Station in North Lebanon. - Potential ICSID arbitration exceeding 200 million dollars between a Kuwaiti investor and the Government of Iraq in relation with the BOT contract of one of Iraq’s airports.
- DIAC arbitration proceedings between a Lebanese franchisor and UAE franchisee related to a dispute in the hotels and restaurants industry (Seat Dubai, UAE law)
- BCCI arbitration proceedings regarding a FIDIC construction dispute between a Lebanese contractor and a real estate developer (Seat Beirut, Lebanese law).
- BCCI arbitration proceedings between a Lebanese franchisor and a Kuwaiti franchisee related to a dispute in the food and beverage industry (Seat Beirut, Kuwaiti laws).
- BCCI arbitration proceedings between a Lebanese film production company and a French film director and producer concerning a dispute in relation with a film production agreement (Seat Beirut, Lebanese law).
Experience as Arbitrator
- Sole Arbitrator appointed by the BCCI in a franchise dispute between two Lebanese entities in the wellness industry. (Seat Beirut, Lebanese Law)
Experience as Administrative Secretary- ICC construction arbitration exceeding 30 million USD between Bahraini and Korean Party and Dubai parties in Qatar (Doha, Qatari law).
- ICC arbitration proceedings in a multi-party dispute exceeding 25 million USD between Egyptian, UAE and Canadian parties in the luxury hotels industry (Cairo, Egyptian law).
- ICC complex arbitration in a 20 million USD banking dispute involving multi-party and non-signatories’ issues (Dubai, UAE law).
- ICC arbitration related to a construction dispute between Dubai based parties (Seat Dubai, UAE law).
- ICC arbitration between Iranian and UAE parties regarding the sale in India of oil and gas derivatives originating from Iran and involving embargo issues (Seat Paris, Swiss Law and international sales law).
- ICC arbitration between a Lebanese music production company and a French music provider regarding a digital internet music distribution agreement (Seat UAE, Swiss, UAE and Lebanese law).
- ICC arbitration related to a dispute between a Saudi Arabian company and a Kuwaiti company over a luxury fast food concept (Seat Geneva, Luxembourg Law).
She co-drafted an article about ‘Disqualifying Counsel for Conflict of Interest in International Arbitration: Tribunals’ Powers and Limits’ published in the Brazilian Arbitration Journal, Issue 46.
She assisted in drafting an overview about arbitration case law in Arab countries published in Les Cahiers de l'Arbitrage, vol. 4, 2010, pages 1207-1224.
Jennifer is a is a member of the Beirut Bar Association and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrator.
